As Time Goes By

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I updated this blog. TJ and M both had birthdays, summer flew by, and it is almost time for halloween. Maybe I can be a bit more on top of sharing what is happening in our lives. I just need to find the camera now....

Quote of the Week

Yesterday after church we had a linger longer activity. TJ was very excited about "eating dinner at church" and refused to find Daddy before we ate. He wanted food, to the point of joining another family in line to get there sooner than Mommy or M. He ate and played with his friends, and before we left, he wanted a little bit more on his plate to take home. Brent told me that TJ was taking some "food for the road." TJ overheard this comment and got very upset.

"It's not for the road, Daddy!" He sobbed. "It's for TJ!"

Corrections

Yesterday, I told TJ that he was a silly boy. He turned those big blue eyes on me, batted them, and said, "No mommy, I'm not a silly boy, I am a child of God."

Ski Day!!

TJ loves skiing. We have taken him before to little sledding hills near home, but after spending several hours hauling him up the hill (he really isn't that heavy) it gets harder and harder to get to the top. So we decided to see how well he could do on a chair lift.

Way to go Copper Mountain!! What a wonderful learning area you have, and you make it so easy for us to get our little snow bunnies addicted to skiing at a young age. The first 5 years are free, but then it's gonna cost ya. Well, it works. Hello, my name is Jana, and I am a ski addict. I have been using skis for 25 years....

TJ had a blast. Brent took him over a little jump a few times, and we raced down the mountain to the chair lift. M rode in a backpack on my back. I thought it would be difficult at first, but it wasn't too bad. A little bit off ballance, but bringing poles next time will help that. She would laugh and giggle when we went fast, but she especially loved the chair lift, screaming "Again! Again!" when we reached the top.
TJ keeps asking when we are going back. Every time it snows.

Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday Brent! I hope you had a great day. We went shopping for your cake. Good strawberries are always hard to find, but TJ found "Balloons" and got so excited about them that we just had to bring them home. It didn't take too long for M to figure out how to blow them up, or out, since they weren't real ballons. What fun she had with her "balloon" and Daddy on his birthday.

First Day of Preschool

TJ's first day of Preschool was today. A friend of mine teaches, and had set up a class for 8 kids. I have heard lots of good things about her preschool and was excited that there was an open spot.

TJ had fun. They painted and played. When I asked him what they did, he told me that they "washed hands," and played on the "train," which I am guessing was the swingset. Today's topic was "I Am Special."

I don't know who is more excited about preschool, me or TJ, but this will be so good for him. There are days when he just needs a friend.

Pink Pants

TJ has figured out how to climb up onto a shelf in the closet in the kid's room. He has also discovered that he can get into all sorts of stuff; clothes, shoes, soap, hangers and even M's crib. Sometimes he will join her for nap, other times he will play with her. Yesterday, he got into a lot of things, including a pair of pink velour pants that M will grow into this fall. It made me laugh.
